I Am A Child Of God: Sunday, July 17, 2016
All 13 of us went to Sunday School this morning. Serena translated for me and the group. Unfortunately after Sunday School Mark had to take Len and Betsy to the airport so they could return to the States. I was really sad to see them go. Before Betsy left, she hugged me twice and gave me many words of wisdom from personal experience I’m sure. Among all things, she said, “Just think of the impact that you are having on your family by what you are doing.” Only God could have known how much I needed to hear that. This past week with the Phillips has been a huge blessing. I thank God for crossing our paths and look forward to seeing them again in the future!
In church John played guitar, I played keyboard, and we all sang “Lord, I Need You.” It was awesome to sing with them, especially since it was in English. After that I gave a short praise that I had previously translated to Spanish. Then I played and sang, “Ya No Esclavos” or “No Longer Slaves” in English. Aside from the fact that my mind switched back to English half way through, it went great! I really enjoyed playing in church. It’s amazing how God has provided me with different opportunities to connect with the people here. Singing in Spanish is just one of them.
This afternoon and evening we have relaxed and played games. It is nice to have a small break before we jump into VBS this week.
