Leon: Monday, July 11, 2016
We left Queretaro around 8:30 this morning and headed towards Irapuato. As we were traveling along the freeway we saw a car skid off the shoulder and roll into the median, which was a large ditch. Betsy immediately began praying for whomever was in the car while Mark pulled over and the rest of us jumped out. We ran over to the car and Mark was the first one there to help. Thank God that the driver was the only one in the vehicle and he seemed to be alright, just really shaken up. Then there was this flood of people that came rushing to help. One guy called for an ambulance while another took pictures, while others tended to the driver, while the rest tried to roll the car over to get the guy’s cell phone. So we all decided we would leave. I’m not sure what I thought I was going to do. But getting out of the car just seemed like the right thing to do at the time.
Thankfully we made it to Irapuato safely where we met up with Dennis and Twana Johnson at Bill and Lydia Allhouse’s house. We unloaded and left again for Leon. Leon is the leather center so of course I bought a pink leather jacket. It will be perfect for all my future motorcycle rides with Lance.
Then we returned to Irapuato where the Philips are having a meeting with local people who would like to start a Christian school here. We’ll be staying here tonight and driving back to Saltillo tomorrow!
