Beyond Thankful: Wednesday, June 15, 2016

Yesterday Sarah Beth sent me a message just to let me know she was praying for me. Such a simple message meant so much to me. God is giving me strength and encouragement through so many people and it’s amazing!

This morning I first went to second grade where I was able to help Lizbeth a little bit. She wasn’t feeling well so I offered to finish teaching the lesson to her students. I wish she wasn’t sick, so maybe God called me to the school early today so that I could be there to help her. God provided the opportunity for me to fulfill the challenge given in Sunday School. I pray that I can be the light of Christ to her and to her students.

This evening I have been completely overwhelmed by God’s graciousness and how He has blessed me with so many amazing people in my life. I video called Tyler again tonight to see the end of their VBS. Then I had the privilege of video calling Sarah Beth. This was the first time I’d seen her since May 5th and when she answered I was so excited I started to cry, then I was mad at myself for crying. It never ceases to amaze me at all the things God is doing. SB is about to leave for Santiago to teach English to first graders for a month in a summer school program. So be praying for her!

Then Lizbeth messaged me thanking me for helping her with her class today. Here God gave me another opportunity to witness! I told her about the challenge and how she came to mind and that I have been praying for her! Hopefully she is blessed by it!

Isn’t it truly amazing how God places people in our lives? He knows exactly who we need and when we need them. I cannot thank God enough for the people that He has placed in my life. I think that I am so blessed and then God gives me more people to share His love with and it’s truly a feeling like no other. So thank you to all the people in my life. Thank you to the people here in Mexico whom I have just met, but treat me with the kindness and love of a family member. Thank you to all my actual family members back home for your love, support, and constant pictures and messages. They are more than necessary. Thank you to all my friends, whether you’re from back home or from school I love you all dearly and wouldn’t be where I am today without your encouragement.

You never know when people will surprise you. Sometimes they will accept you into their friend group as if you always belonged. Sometimes they will invite you into their homes and treat you like family even though you cannot communicate with one another. Sometimes they will show up at your piano recital then go visit your parents without your knowledge while you’re in a different country. And sometimes I am completely overwhelmed, like tonight, with God’s goodness and graciousness and His faithfulness to me. And how I have never before felt such an overwhelming sense of peace and love. My life is brighter than the sun because God has blessed it with a never-ending supply of people willing to shine their light in my direction.
