Today was my first day tutoring at the bilingual school. It was definitely nothing like I have ever experienced before. There were so many kids, and so much Spanish. It was really amazing to see how their school works during a regular day. I went to four different classes today and worked with correcting their pronunciation. I didn’t get the chance to work with the five and six year olds but they caught me in the hallway before I left and about five of them came running at me. They all hugged me for a ridiculously long time while rapid-firing Spanish at me. I’m excited to work with them more.
This evening Serena spoiled me by taking me to get a manicure and a pedicure. It was amazing. The woman doing my nails would say something to me or tell me to do something and I would just look at her so confused. So we would both just laugh and move on.
Today was also Lucas’ fifth birthday party back home. Special thanks to Tyler for video calling me and letting me see everyone! Despite my previous feelings towards Lucas’ birthday parties I actually wished I could have been there today. Those kids are growing up so fast! Now I know how Amy feels with all her time away from home. But there’s also a peace in knowing you’re exactly where God wants you to be.
